Homie
Chore & Home Management App
For this project, my team and I were tasked with designing an app from concept to completion, centered around solving a clear problem related to community. We chose to focus on a common, relatable challenge: living harmoniously with others. As cities grow and the cost of living rises, more people are cohabiting—whether with roommates, partners, family, or even strangers.
We began with in-depth research, including domain exploration, competitor analysis, user surveys, and live interviews. These insights helped us shape detailed user personas, a sitemap, and user flows. While we initially planned to focus primarily on chores and cleaning, our research revealed that communication breakdowns were a bigger issue. This led us to shift our focus toward features that support better communication and conflict resolution.
Throughout the process, we developed a full brand identity, including a visual style guide and tone of voice. We created and tested multiple prototypes, iterating based on user feedback at every stage. These insights helped us build a more thoughtful user journey and prepare a final high-fidelity prototype that responds directly to the needs we uncovered.
